It’s
not unusual for a residential elevator to make 700 starts in one day, or
a commercial or institutional elevator to start more than 1,000 times per
day. That’s more than 250,000 starts each and every year! So it should
be no surprise that even after years of reliable service, you may need to
consider upgrading your elevator. Upgrading your elevator may allow you
to accomplish many objectives such as increasing safety and reliability,
meeting your buildings changing needs, meeting current code requirements
or competing with more modern buildings.
has extensive experience and specializes in modernizing all brands of
elevators which enables us to complete work quickly and efficiently in
order to minimize down time and disruption.
The following
upgrade options are a smart investment that will improve the reliability
and performance of your elevator while extending the longevity of your
equipment.
Door
Operators
The new closed loop door operators replace the older mechanical circuits,
cams and resistors with a digital system to provide precise door operation.
Closed loop technology provides a substantial improvement in the smoothness
of door operation while increasing safety and reliability and reducing
downtime.

Electronic Detector Edges
The new electronic detector edges have up to 142 infrared light beams
providing an invisible curtain of protection across the elevator entrance.
An on-board microprocessor constantly scans each infrared receptor to
determine its status. If even one beam is interrupted, the door will immediately
open before the door touches the passenger.
New Fixtures
With the installation of new elevator push button panels, you can improve
esthetics of your elevator and with the addition of Braille plates also
make it handicap accessible. With surface mount hall push button stations
you can lower the push buttons to meet handicap height requirements without
disturbing the existing wall coverings. New digital position indicators
can be installed which have light emitting diodes (LED’s) that are
brighter and easier to read and they last longer than the incandescent
bulbs.

Emergency Handsfree Phones
The CAN/CSA B44 Safety Code for Elevators requires all new elevators to
be equipped with two-way communications. This is not the case with older
elevators installed prior to this requirement. In emergency situations
it is important for the passengers to be able to get help as soon as possible,
therefore the emergency phone is an excellent addition to your elevator.

Emergency Lighting
Emergency lighting units can be installed to provide passengers with light
in the elevator cab when there is a power outage. The unit meets all code
requirements.

Controls
Performance and reliability of your elevator are key to the success and
image of your building. The new microprocessor control systems provide
smooth acceleration and deceleration, consistent and accurate leveling
and reliable operation. The efficient operation of the new control systems
can reduce passenger wait time as well as reduce power consumption in
some cases.
Hall
Door Unlocking Devices
Hall door unlocking devices are used by technicians to access the pit
or car top for maintenance or to rescue passengers at any floor. The small
hole on the hall door accepts a special key that is used by authorized
personnel only to access the hoistway to allow for quick evacuation.

Cab Interior Finishes
The most visible part of your elevator is the cab itself. Whether you
want to update the look, get rid of scratches and vandalism or install
hand rails we are here to help.

Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement
Earlier hydraulic elevator cylinders were installed with a single bottom
and no protection against corrosion. Corrosion may lead to a failure of
the cylinder causing environmental contamination and personal injury.
The new cylinders are equipped with a safety bulkhead and enclosed in
PVC to prevent corrosion and ultimately a catastrophic cylinder failure.
Hydraulic
Valve Replacement
Hydraulic control valves govern the flow of the oil in the system in turn
controlling the ride quality, lifting power and leveling accuracy. If
you are experiencing a jerky rough ride or inconsistent leveling it may
be time to replace the valve. You may also consider replacing your control
valve if it is obsolete in order to have replacement parts available and
reduce potential down time.
Whatever your upgrade needs may be, call and
make the SMART choice.
